Inventory before outreach
Assign an internal ID to each UPS cabinet, bypass, transformer, battery cabinet, distribution component, spare module, and accessory. Link every photograph and document to that ID. Record quantities and distinguish installed assets from loose spares or parts.
A liquidation list should capture the electrical ratings and system relationships that affect reuse. A cabinet count alone does not show whether modules, controls, batteries, bypass equipment, or inter-cabinet connections are complete.

Resolve decision and shutdown ownership
Identify who can authorize a sale, who controls the shutdown, and who can approve access. Record whether an electrical contractor, facility team, rigging provider, or security representative must participate. The buyer-review process should not imply that regulated or facility-controlled work is automatically included.
Set a realistic decision window and disclose any lease-end, construction, demolition, or commissioning dependencies. Compressed schedules may change what evidence, labor, packaging, or freight planning is feasible.

Close only on written scope
Before work begins, an accepted agreement should state the assets, price or consideration if any, payment terms, transfer point, exclusions, site rules, disconnection and rigging responsibilities, battery treatment, freight, schedule, and restoration expectations. A website submission is only a request for review.
